I was looking for a website that you could post a tribute to your favorite teachers and I'm upset that there is not one. Growing up in and around Sitka, Alaska before the internet, our teachers had to bring the whole world to us, since we were so isolated. They did a wonderful job.

My name is Lisa. I would like to thank all the wonderful teachers that help make this world a better place. I feel educators are the foundation to a childs whole life. I feel teachers don't get enough money or credit for all that they do for children.

I also feel the school districts don't do enough to support teachers. I strongly feel something needs to change. I hope to see a change in the educational system. I feel parents need to vote and get more involved in his or her child's education. I am a child advocate and I can't believe the truth about our educational system. It is totally shocking to see alot of the schools dont even have a school site safety plan. WOW!

I am still student-teaching so I can't apply for a microgrant yet, but I absolutely will when I begin. This is such an exciting thing for new teachers like me bc we have so many ideas but not much $$!
